Home made rings
What you need:

1. 2 X 28" long 1" PVC pipe
2. 10lb plate weight
3. Strapping, webbing, rope, etc.
4. Hangers, clips, eye bolts, etc.
Take one 28' piece of PVC pipe. Place it in the oven on bake at 350
degrees for 3-5 minutes. At 28 inches I couldn't even shut my oven
door all the way but it worked just fine. Take out and form
immediately around 10lb plate. Push down on pipe to make sure it
stays round and doesn't flatten out. Dunk in cold water while around
plate to harden. Run rope through pipe and tie off. The picture you
see to the right I have two eye bolts screwed into a cross beam in my
ceiling. I had the rope so my total cost was $5.09 to make two pairs.
One for home and one for our workout room at the station.
You can see
here while
doing ring dips
that they really
do work and
hold your
weight without
flexing.
1" straight PVC pipe
This is one ring of the latest pair I made for our
station. As you can see I took out the rope and
used all webbing. I didn't have enough
webbing at home when I made my first pair.
Point being use what ever you have available.
